I Spy

I Spy is a vocabulary literacy based strategy that provides students an opportunity to put their knowledge of key terms or unit specific words to use. This strategy assists students in relating vocabulary words to a broader concept or understanding. This includes looking through texts to find examples, non-examples, and placing the terms in context. The strategy is implemented very similar to the way a scavenger hunt works. Good topics or units this strategy could be implemented are geography lessons, lessons pertaining to culture, and the philosophies of government.
