Peer Editing

Peer editing is a literacy based strategy conducted in small groups that is student led and focused on critical thinking and analysis. Students will offer feedback to each other on their writing to ensure both the editor and the writer fully understand the content being presented. For a social studies classroom, this strategy can be used to spark discussion on practice essay questions, document based questions, and research papers. This literacy based strategy is much more effective in the upper levels.
