PLAN

 

The literacy based strategy known as PLAN, predict, locate, add, and note, is a graphic organizer that does more than simply place student's notes on paper. This particular graphic organizer is a living piece of work that students constantly add to and refer back to throughout the lesson. The organizer is composed of a main topic and divided into subtopics, but as stated before, it is a living piece of work. For social studies, the use of graphics such as propaganda posters, timelines, and cartoons would be more useful than tons and tons of text. These images and visuals would require the students to focus more on understanding the meaning behind the graphics and use different graphics or concepts as the subtopics on their organizer.
